From Oaxacan origin, he spends his time between his hometown and Seattle, where he works for museums, community centers and public spaces. He studied at School of Fine Arts of Oaxaca, where he graduated in 1989.
In his painting, he seeks to raise awareness of the importance of people from the mountains preserving their traditions and customs, as well as pride in their origin. It combines an aura of mystery and reverie in which the present and the ancestral memory, tradition and modernity coexist in harmony.
It works mainly with acrylic on canvas in which with abstract language he makes allegory to common Mexican subjects. He has performed more than forty individual exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Japan and France.
